Wedding Announcement

Here is a wedding announcement that I designed for an old roommate and her fiance. I took their engagement pictures a few days ago and designed this wedding announcement proof for them.

It's kind of nice to be designing announcements again. I haven't done it in quite a while, seeing as how we have a graphic designer and a retouch artist at work that get to do that kind of fun thing. Plus, it's more fun to do it for people that you actually know. :)

That's all. I just wanted to share it with anyone who was interested.

Sixth Folder... Sixth Picture...

So, since my computer is relatively new (& lacks many of my previous pictures), as is my life as a married person, I am sure that none of you are surprised to find this is the winning photograph.

Obviously, I am smooching on my husband (as of about 30 minutes earlier) in front of the temple doors in Columbus in this picture.

I actually think that this one was taken by David's brother's wife, Heidi. (Her pictures from our wedding actually turned out a bit better than our professional ones!)

So, there you go.

I now tag Sarah, Sara, Kristin, Lanay & Maridyn.

Me & Manly Labor

Yesterday, on my day off, I went to IKEA. (I know, it wasn't on my list, but I still felt rather accomplished after this.) David & I have been in desperate need of a dining room table & chairs seeing as how we have been eating in the living room for the past four months. I found a really good deal at IKEA & spent less than I had budgeted. (Woo hoo!) I found an unfinished pine table & chairs. I figured that I could just stain them myself since I'm not really into that natural wood look. So, I got them. When I got to the register to pay for them, the chairs all rang up as the black version of the chair I wanted, rather than the unfinished version. I went back to look at the stacks upon stacks of chair boxes & realized that they only had the black versions left. I decided to get the black ones even though I was getting the unfinished table (no black option). I like darker woods anyway, so I figured that I'd get some black stain & stain the table, saving me the labor on the chairs. And I'm glad I did so. I am currently in the middle of staining the dining room table, & as fun as it is, I don't think I would want to suffer through the fumes of four more chairs. I will have to post pictures once I am done. For my first wood staining job, it looks pretty darn good.

Day Off

So, I frequently feel as if I try too hard to plan what I'm going to do on my day off from work. I have a list in my head of things I'd like to accomplish tomorrow:

1. Do laundry.
2. Get more quarters for laundry.
3. Clean bedroom.
4. Hang curtains.
5. Go to bridal shop in SLC to get measured for bridesmaid dress for brother's wedding & order said dress.
6. Take David to & from work so that I have to car in order to accomplish task #5.
7. Sleep some more. Maybe.

I usually get one or two things done, but usually not everything. So that is my goal tomorrow. Well, actually today, seeing as how it is 1am. David will have a fun time shaking me awake in about 7 hours so I can take him to work. Yipee.

* * *

Oh, yea... and today is our 4 month anniversary. :)

Who else is sick of snow? Better question... who else is sick of the slushy junk that is left on the road for several hours afterward because the snow plow drivers decide that they deserve to sleep in on every single snowy day? Me. I'm sick of it. That's all.
