30 Weeks & Getting A Move On It!

I would say that time is flying by, because it kind of is, but it also feels like it's about time that I made it this far! I can't believe that we're about 75% of the way through this. I'm feeling pretty prepared. Well, for the most part. I feel like we have most of the essentials covered & that if (heaven forbid) our baby boy were to come today that we'd have most of the things that we need.

We just got back from Idaho last night & I don't have to go back to work until Friday, so I'm trying to use these next couple of days to get things a little more organized. I have mounds upon mounds of baby clothes that I need to wash & put away, more decorations to put up, thank you notes to write, furniture to dust, my "to buy" list to still update... you name it & I probably still have to do it!

David & I came back from Idaho with a lot of stuff that his family graciously purchased for us. His parents & grandma brought a large bag filled with clothes & blankets for the baby & his oldest brother & sister-in-law brought us a present as well. And while we were there, his family insisted on taking us baby shopping & we got even more fabulous stuff! When we got home, we had two more packages waiting for us & another one that arrived today -- all stuff for the baby -- and this is all in addition to the two large boxes of stuff that my mom has already sent to us (& apparently she's putting together yet another)! Oh boy!

We're really grateful for all of the generosity & excitement that everyone has shown us. Now it's time for me to sort through everything & get it ready for this little guy! :)

Seth & Sara

Yesterday, David's little sister, Sara, got married. We've been here in Idaho since early Friday morning & it's been non-stop wedding, wedding, wedding for the past couple of days. But everything turned out quite beautiful & it was a great day for everyone.

Today is our day to relax. We went over to Seth's family's house this morning to see them open their wedding presents & have lunch. It's nice to have a little time to relax after all of our fun.

And tomorrow is our second wedding anniversary, so we're in the process of figuring out what fun thing we'd like to do. We will definitely be going to dinner with David's family tomorrow night, though. :)

Today is my last day of work for the next week. Tomorrow, we leave for vacation!

David's sister, Sara, is getting married in Idaho, so we'll be driving up there tomorrow evening. I have so much that I have to do at work today to make sure that everything is in place before I leave that it could make for a very long day. Wish me luck!

If I May Brag...

Okay, so yesterday, I spent my day off looking for a birthday present for David, as tomorrow is his birthday & his schedule had changed due to the start of the semester, leaving me to have my day off alone once again.

Among my searching, I ended up near Baby's R Us (wise?... perhaps not). I had a $20 gift card that we got just for registering in the store a few months ago, so I thought I'd just pop inside to see if there was anything on sale that I wanted/needed. This is when I found the most heavenly sales rack! There were about 4 or 5 whole clothing racks of already heavily discounted clothes with signs on the top stating that all of the sale clothing was an additional 20% off. What?! I was in baby clothes paradise! I started picking things off left & right. And this is what I came home with...

  • 1 Onesie
  • 2 Shirt & Shorts Outfits
  • 2 Pairs of Overalls
  • 2 Pairs of Swimming Trunks
  • 8 Jumpers (2 with matching hats)

And so for everything, here are the totals...

Regularly Marked Price :: $164.89

First Total Sale Price :: $60.44

Sale Price After 20% Off :: $48.98

Price Tiffany Paid After Using Free Gift Card :: $28.98

I looked at the girl ringing me up & said, "I feel like I just ripped you off." Even she was impressed with my findings.

(And yes, I did find David a fabulous birthday present, too. Just not at Baby's R Us.)

I just had to brag about it a little. :)
