Today, So Far...

So far, we've had an okay day.  Mornings are always nice because David is home and we get to spend a couple of hours together as a family.

James decided to take another super long nap today.  Yesterday, it was over 4 hours.  Today, it was 3.5 hours.  I think he's having a growth spurt or something, because he usually naps for about 2-3 hours each day.  Because of his long nap, I got to take a short nap myself as well as got some personal time to read something other than the microwave directions on the back of a bag of chicken nuggets.  I'll tell you what, I'm not complaining.

After James' nap, we decided to go outside to play.  We would have stayed out longer, but our neighbor decided to come out and smoke, so that kind of put an end to that.  We might go out again a little bit later.

Exploring the yard today.

Also, after James' nap, David texted me from work with some good news.  A little while ago, he'd put in to take two days off this month because we wanted to go visit his parents in Illinois.  A few days ago, he was told that because so many people were putting in for time off in July and because he has no seniority, he wouldn't be able to get his request approved.  Then, when David was checking his account at work, it told him that he was taking two personal days in July, even though he thought he wasn't approved.  So today, when he got to work, he talked to my brother Tony (who is a supervisor in his department) about it and Tony confirmed that that meant that management had actually approved his time-off request.  Hooray!  So, we will visiting David's parents in Illinois in two weeks.  He normally has Sundays and Wednesdays as his day off, so he requested to have a Monday and Tuesday off so that we could have a nice four-day weekend.  We're really excited to get to go out of town to see them for a few days.

That's our day so far.  Not too shabby.

We have that the time off problem in December. But next year Rich will get another week off of PTO and since they don't offer sick leave I'm pretty excited that we can take an additional week off.
